Not only for their actions during the COVID-19 pandemic, but for all they have done for humanity since the dawn of civilization. They perform courageous acts of service while manning the front lines during times of great fear and uncertainty. These heroes often do this with complete disregard for their own health and well-being.

They are our neighbors, friends, and family members, or sometimes even complete strangers. No matter who they are, they make us feel safe and cared for during our darkest hours. They hold our hands to provide comfort. They advocate for us when we cannot advocate for ourselves. They stare down invisible dangers every day in order to heal and protect the rest of us from those same threats.

So, to all the dedicated, hardworking, and often underappreciated members of our healthcare communities, there is just one thing to say: “Thank You.” We are grateful for all that you do for us each and every day, both at our bedsides and behind the scenes. We know that there would be no us without you. You are irreplaceable and very much appreciated.
